What do you want to embody this year? How do you want to feel this year? As a sophisticated woman, dedicated to leveling up your life, it’s important to have a clear vision in your mind of who and what you want to become. At the beginning of each new year I choose a word that embodies how I want to feel and who I want to become during the course of the upcoming year. This exercise can be done at any time, so whenever you come into this program is the right time.
Set aside some time to be alone and undisturbed. Take out your journal or notebook. This is where having a clear vision of the life you want to design comes in. Close your eyes and mentally envision that life. How do you feel living that life? Envision your house, car, style, friends, vacations, clothes. How do all those things make you feel when you envision them? Those feelings you get when you envision that life are the feelings you want to cultivate with your word of the year. It’s okay if you have 2-3 words for the year; just don’t have more than that. I have two words of the year for 2023. Unstoppable and sophisticated. I want to be unstoppable in my goals, business, and life. I want to be sophisticated in my mindset, style, surroundings/environment, friends and social skills. These are the qualities I want to project out into the world and hold in my mindset. Last year, my WOTY was feminine. I wanted to embody the essence of being feminine for the whole year of 2022. I wrote that word on my bathroom mirror and looked at it every time I went in there. That word became my guiding principle. I would ask myself, “does this make me look/do/be/feel/project more feminine?”
Your word of the year will become your guiding word for this year of your reinvention. It’s time to sit down with your journal, envision away (no vision is too big or grande). Now write down all the words that come to mind when you envision that life. Don’t think or second guess, just write. Fill up a whole page if you want. After you’re done with that, go back through your list and read each word. Circle the words that jump out at you. Keep narrowing down until you land on your word of the year. Once you’ve chosen your word, write it down and place it where you’ll see it. Commit to this word for the year.
